My K-12 distance learning experience is limited to the COVID-19 pandemic, when my school used a website for assignments and Zoom for classes. These tools were ineffective for me, as I learn best with in-person guidance, which is why I don’t take online classes now. I have never used virtual environments where students interact with avatars and chat bubbles, though I’ve seen them online and find the idea interesting. I would like to try this approach, as it seems more hands-on and personable than traditional online learning. I believe I could excel with this technology.
From working on Assignment 4: PowerPoint for Information Dissemination, I learned how to create page numbers on PowerPoint slides and design my own template. I liked that we could choose our topics and enjoyed making mine. However, I didn't like making a review summary at the end. I think this was because my chosen topic felt fully covered in previous slides. Next time, I could choose a different topic or note key points from each slide as I work, so writing the summary is easier later.
My Topic And First Slide:
I don’t really have any lingering questions so far. I just would like to know what the instructor thought of my topic. It really interested me and, as she is the only person who will see it, I would like her opinion. I do not have any course/assignment suggestions. The only thing I would recommend to future students is that they should choose a topic they enjoy for this assignment. It will get boring if you don’t. Or maybe don’t do that. You should practice on less exciting topics if you ever go into the education field, as not everything is always of interest to you.
