I went to the teacher's page on the school website. The page included the teachers’ full names and their respective roles within the school. Also, it included the languages the teachers spoke and what their credentials were. I assumed they did this to inform parents that certain teachers speak their language if needed. The credentials are especially important, as knowing that a teacher is qualified is imperative to know if your student is being taught correctly.

I envision myself using technology to accomplish my professional responsibilities by mass emailing the parents when they need to know about certain goings on that happen in class. This will be helpful to inform parents of midterms and permission slip due dates. I will also be using Google Classroom in class for sign-ups and online handout assignments. This will prevent paper waste and allow the students to do the tasks efficiently.
I had a nice experience when working on Assignment 2: Critical Evaluation, using the Canvas group. I felt it was simple to use and didn’t cause me any confusion. I liked that I could evaluate someone so easily. I would very much like to know more about this for when I teach, as I will probably use Canvas when I teach.
The aspects of lesson planning I think AI can effectively support are the activity ideas. I believe that when a teacher is uncreative, their class can be boring. AI gives great suggestions for creative activities it found online. They are fun and educational.
The aspect of lesson planning I think still requires human teacher expertise is the lesson aspect. I understand that AI can give good sources and such, but I think that it can’t help a teacher teach the way a student needs. When doing the evaluation project, I found that I thought very little of the students’ understanding of the lesson. This will cause the students to be taught incorrectly.
This assignment taught me about what makes a “good” lesson plan by showing me the format lesson plans should be in. I have never seen a lesson plan, even though my mom is a teacher, and I felt AI gave me a good general idea of what it entails. It also taught me that a good lesson plan will be well thought out. I assumed lesson plans were just outlines, but they are more detailed than that.
Evaluating an AI-generated plan changed how I think about designing my own lessons because it showed me what is needed in a lesson plan. Not the AI, but the evaluation process. It made me understand and sympathise with how much goes into a lesson plan. This evaluation made me think to design my lesson plans in such a way that they are simple to read but detailed enough to instruct a sub if needed.
What I liked about the Canvas group tool was that it was so simple to use. I could work on an assignment simultaneously with other students. I also liked that it taught me what the teacher's side may look like. What I disliked about the Canvas group tool was that it felt kind of chunky. I believe it needed to be formatted more like the students’ pages. It was all in one place and not organized the way I would like. I do not want to recommend a different tool.
