The Florida Standard I found on the CPALMS website was SC.912.TI.1.6. This standard describes how technology can impact a person's life. It was last revised in July 2024, as there weren’t many more recent updates. It uses technology (smartwatches) to evaluate the effects of technology in general. I feel prepared to implement this standard based on my current skill set because I have a decent understanding of technology. I have experienced many of these effects myself, and I know I can relay this information to students.
When accessing the Educator Toolkit, I searched for English for 4th-grade students. What came up was “Formal or Informal… You Decide.” It also gave a full lesson plan to teach the kids. I believe these resources that were provided can be used in my teaching by using the information it gives and turning it into quick quizzes for students to test their proficiency. I can also turn the information it gives me into a PowerPoint to teach the kids.
There is a question I have been thinking about. When it comes to copyright in teaching, how are you to be sure you need to source the resource? I don’t understand the concept of having to do that when teaching children, as it is information that I clearly didn’t make up myself. What would happen if I didn’t source it and the administration knew about it? I would like a bit more detail on this subject if that's okay.
